- The Artist Franco Sita was born in Bologna, Italy
on 09/29/1965.
- In 1983, he got his artistic diploma from
the "Artistic High School" of Bologna
- In 1987, he got his university degree in
set designing from the "Academy of Fine Arts" of Bologna.
- In 1989, he started his career as a set designer
with private set design workshops. To date, he has carried out 25 set designs
as a set designer-painter ranging from lyric shows, operetta and drama,
for the greatest theatres in Emilia-Romagna.
- Most of his works as a theatre set designer
were done for the Communal Theatre of Bologna, with which he worked
to stage 8 grand operas. His latest job was the production, in the 2000-2001
season of the Communal Theatre, of the "Aida" by Verdi, direction
and scenes by Pieralli.
- From 1993 to 1996 he worked as a set designer
assistant for the production of some video clips and commercials. Moreover,
he participated in two cinematographic productions as a scene painter.
- Since 1991 his set design activity has been
supplemented with his painter - decorator job. He passed from small
jobs for private clients to painting and decoration of large surfaces,
not only in houses but also in business and cultural settings.
- In the painting and decorative field, his
participation in building the "Memorial Museum of Freedom" was particularly
important. This museum is unique in Italy and was inaugurated on 21st
April 2000 in Bologna. It exhibits a three-dimensional reconstruction
of 5 multimedia scenes of a few episodes of the last days of the Second
World War.
